  • 2006 - Major fights between the Armed forces and Taliban.

  • 2007 - Taliban's commander executed.

  • 2008 - 140 civilians died during the anti-terror operation.

  • 2009 - A new strategy under leadership of President Obama, military command changed.

  • 2009 - Afghan Presidential elections.

  • 2010 - Highest command of the military changed.

  • 2011 - Bin Laden killed.

  • 2011 - 10 years of war.

  • 2012 - Peace talks cancelled between the United States and the Taliban.

  • 2013 - Afghanistan's security handed over by NATO to Afghan forces.

  • 2014 - Obama announces troop withdrawal.

  • 2014 - Power sharing agreement signed between the President of Afghanistan and a major opponent.

  • 2017 - U.S. attacks Islamic State redoubt.

  • 2017 - Trump signals prolonged Afghan war.

  • 2018 - Taliban does major attacks against U.S.

  • 2019 - U.S. - Taliban peace talks progresses.

  • 2019 - Trump calls off peace talks.

  • 2020 - Peace talks takes off.

  • 2020 - U.S. announces troop withdrawal.

  • 2021 - Biden announces to complete the withdrawal by 9/11 of 2021.

  • 2021 - Twenty year long war ends as U.S. completes withdrawal on August 30, 2021.
